our causes

Eddah’s Hope Cancer Foundation is dedicated to empowering the young adults to sensitize their peers, the needy and marginalized in Kenya on the prevention, management and treatment of cancer. This is through the creation of interactive social platforms, where young adults can share and learn from each other and get equipped with the information to play this important role.

We promote a preventative culture involving a change of lifestyle and frequent checkups leading to early detection and reduction of mortality cases. To this end, the foundation therefore incorporates young adult’s friendly activities.

Advocacy and wellness

Eddah’s Hope Cancer Foundation encourages young adults’ support, involvement and contribution towards the fight against cancer, through promotion of innovative, fun and interactive activities as well pushing for change in legislation as a sure way of influencing behavior change among the young adults

We strongly believe in empowering this group, to engage in an active process of becoming aware of and making informed choices toward a healthy and fulfilling life. In order to achieve a state of complete physical, mental, and social well-being as far as cancer is concerned.

Under advocacy and wellness we have the following campaigns:

  • #CancerMtaani Campaign
  • Corporate screening campaign
  • #YoungCancerSoldiers Campaign
  • Compassion

In an effort to assist those affected or diagnosed by cancer and bring their plight to therefore, we engage the young adults in hospital/ hospice visits amongst other activities, which provide an opportunity for them to understand and relate to the scope of the problem while enabling us to sympathize and be concern for the sufferings or misfortunes of others. It also acts as a platform to relate and learn from the Cancer while giving back to society.

Under Compassion we have:

  • #GrantASmile Campaign
  • Hospice Palliative care unit visits

Research

In a bid to understand, reaffirm, establish or confirm, the depth and the scope of the “cancer” problem, we engage in constant online to be able to increase the stock of knowledge about the disease. We also plan to employ the use of comprehensives research methodologies and field work as mediums of collecting data annually to gauge the effectiveness of our advocacy vis a vis the reduced cancer fatalities and early detections.
