A small team trying to do something big
Eddah’s Hope Cancer foundation is made up of young, fun loving, professional friends from Kenya, who came together after the death of the founder. To this team there are endless possibilities as far as winning the fight against this scourge is concerned. EHCF intends to reach out to fellow youths and teens not only in Africa but the world and sensitize them on the need and importance of preventive care as opposed to curative care, through music, sports, drama, fashion and the care and concern for the environment, as well as working with like minded institutions, corporations and individuals with an aim of eradicating cancer from the face of the earth.

My resolve to fight cancer is one that cannot be described by words; it’s something that drives my soul.
Mumbi Gichuru
Marketing Director
Cancer has touched each of us directly or indirectly and will continue to be part of ours lives. For me it hit all too close to home when my first cousin, also called Mumbi and the same age as I am (born 1987) was diagnosed with cancer and passed away. So many are diagnosed with cancer on a daily basis and so many cannot afford the costs that come with fighting this disease. Taking action and getting involved in the fight against cancer is important to me.

The fight against CANCER is eminent, it is a war that we all have faced through close relations or other ways.I have lost relatives to this beast and every waking day it is claiming lives. I believe it is in everybody’s nature to want to live in a better world.Especially the youth, the educated youth who have skills, means, resources and ways to raise awareness and abilities to help those who are affected who do not know how or where to seek help from. Not only are we soldiers of a greater cause, but like links in a chain, we are holding hands, locking arms to build a formidable force that one day shall be part of a greater purpose which with no doubt will eventually stomp this beast out of our existence.
Judy Nyaboke
Finance Director
At least a life is lost daily to cancer. Very few people survive this monster, and the few are those lucky enough to have access to good medical care. Cancer treatment and care is expensive and therefore not accessible to many who also do not have the right information with regards to its prevention and care.
Katini Mwakuloma
Organising Secretary
This is a battle very close to my heart having had an immediate family member suffer but come out very strongly out of it. I have lost dear friends and relatives and have friends who have lost their family members through this scourge called Cancer.I could not do any thing then now i can.

Countless conversations with different people and all had a common thread, they all knew someone that had died from or was struggling with cancer. A cancer diagnosis in Kenya is equated with death, and this should not be the case. At least one-third of all cancer cases are preventable. Prevention offers the most cost-effective long term strategy for the control of cancer.
