Eddah’s-Hope Cancer Foundation was founded by Felista Eddah’s son Mr. Isaji Moses, in November 2010 after Eddah had been diagnosed with cancer 6 years ago. Mr.Isaji saw the need to avail information and assistance to single mothers and widows suffering from cancer and their families something he did not have access to when his mother was diagnosed with breast cancer.
The idea is to give assistance to single mothers and widows affected by breast cancer as well as gather and spread information in a friendly, fun and modern way targeting the youth/teens for purposes of prevention and to create support groups that would eventually turn into a support centre.
The not-for-profit foundation is dedicated to preventing cancer by mobilizing funds for providing the highest level of professional medical and psychological assistance to families and cancer patients. The foundation concentrates on breast cancer which can be prevented through lifestyle changes or detection and treatment in its early stages.
Eddah’s Hope Cancer Foundation also wishes to save lives and to provide an enhanced quality of life for all those affected by cancer through our care services, cancer education and prevention programs, public campaigns and advocacy. The services we provide include family support, cancer support groups, free phone helpline, information & support, counselling, fitting service and cancer prevention training for health professionals & practitioners. Our work is only possible due to the generosity of local people who raise almost all of the funding needed to provide our services. All the funds raised on our behalf is spent in Kenya to support local single mothers and widows from poor and marginalized communities suffering from breast cancer.
