Eddah’s Hope Cancer Foundation just launched its new website. This move is to ensure smooth browsing and quick access to information. Welcome.

By now you’ve seen the posters going round on social media: gold on black background advertising what promises to be a night of fine dining, great company and of course, awards. Perhaps, like many, you’ve been wondering what this event has to do with the fight against cancer in Kenya. The simple answer is, everything.

On the 28th of October Cancersoldiers around the country are dressing up to not only fight cancer, but to recognize and appreciate individuals, groups and organizations who have given it their all in the fight. Too often, the fight against cancer, seems like a personal struggle with many choosing to be silent through their journey. We want to encourage a spirit of openness and appreciation to those who have refused to be quiet and shared their story with the public, those who have given much of their time and effort to spread the word, organizations whose awareness programs have helped raise awareness, and groups doing their little thing in the fight against cancer.

Without these individuals, groups and organizations, the fight against cancer would remain a silent one, confined to hospital wards and doctors’ offices. Because of their generous contribution in the fight, we now have programs initiated to help spread awareness through every facet of our day-to-day life. We thank you and we celebrate you!

Every nominee big and small deserves a medal of honor for the time and resources they put in the fight. Our nominees aren’t superheroes, but in our eyes, they may as well be. We hope you feel the same. Please spare a moment to give them your vote of confidence by sending an SMS with their respective code to 21390 and show them your support.

Proceeds from this year’s Gala will be used to launch our ‘Cancer Mtaani’ initiative which kicks off next year. The main purpose of the event will be to bring screening and cancer awareness across 47 counties in Kenya the only way Eddah’s Hope Cancer Foundation knows how: using fun to fight cancer!

So let’s march Cancersoldiers, to the doors of Villa Rosa Kempinski on the 28th of October and celebrate our fellow Cancersoldiers!
